Choice of plants for vertical greenery
There are some plants that are particularly suitable for the embellishment of your vertical wall, both for aesthetic and developmental characteristics: among them we mention for example Campsis and Clematis, in addition to Ficus repens and the officinal Jasmin, without forgetting the Vine of Canada and the Passionflower. For the installation of each of them, take into account their needs in relation to the climate and the location: for example, use microtherm or macrotherm species in less or warmer and wetter climates. Instead, in the more arid regions, they focus on succulent and cacti species, characterized by a leathery structure of the aerial part that prevents heat dispersion.
In addition, there are some plants that prefer direct exposure to the sun, while others prefer the partial shade, a factor that you will have to take into account also in relation to the orientation of your wall, without forgetting the resistance to winds and polluting factors, especially in big cities. Finally, there are some features that are incompatible with the construction of a vertical wall. Therefore discarded plants that have a bad odor that could affect the use of a space, or that perhaps produce toxic fruit that could be ingested by children. In the same way avoid poisonous, stinging plants or those that can cause allergic reactions. Finally, it is not worth insisting on plants that require continuous treatment: in addition to being inconvenient from an economic point of view, the use of pesticides or fungicides could be harmful to people's health.
