All the advantages of underground irrigation
Even those who have only a small garden, can have so many satisfactions and spend so many moments of relaxation in the open air, but they also find themselves having a commitment, not least, especially in spring and summer. To prune the branches, to mow the lawn, to take care of the flowerbeds and above all to water: a vital necessity for all the plants. Wet the grass and flowers every day is always a bit challenging, even if the garden is not immense. Perhaps, after a long day at work, you would prefer to rest: and then there is always the unknown of those who will take care of watering while we are on vacation. In larger gardens, all these problems can be solved by an underground irrigation system, with an electronic programmer that automatically manages irrigation and a hydraulic circuit with solenoid valves, collector pipes and concealed sprinklers. And for smaller gardens? The solution exists and can also be carried out alone, without making deep excavations and with a low cost: it is called Colibrм System.
Ideal for do-it-yourself irrigation
Created by Claber, a leading Italian company in the world of home irrigation, the Colibrм System is a complete system that includes everything needed to create a "micro-irrigation underground" circuit in a small garden: from 50 to 200 square meters. The “heart” of the system are the Colibrм micro-sprinklers, which also work with low water pressure, watering the lawn and the flowerbeds with a delicate and uniform rainfall, on different areas (360 °, 180 °, 90 °) and with an easily adjustable water outlet. The micro-sprinklers are connected to a Ѕ ”polyethylene collector tube, with watertight compression fittings and a drain valve that allows the system to be emptied when winter arrives, to prevent the water from getting into the system. inside it freezes. Colibrм System is managed by a simple battery-powered programmer that connects to the tap, to control daily irrigation times with versatility and precision: all this, without any hydraulic or electrical connection.
How to design the system
Even designing a Colibrм System micro-irrigation system on your own is very easy. First, draw a scale plant of your garden on a squared sheet, then mark the areas to be irrigated with a compass (circular, semicircular or 90 °), trying to overlap them as little as possible, covering the entire surface at the same time of lawn and flower beds. At the center of each area, a sprinkler will be placed. At this point the path of the collector tube is drawn, connecting the various sprinklers in the most linear way possible. On the Claber website, in the "do it yourself" section, you can see project examples and find all the technical characteristics of the Colibrм System products. You can also immediately view an online quote for gardens from 50 to 200 square meters, including the battery-powered programmer: and also the cost is really within everyone's reach.
Small garden? Colibrм System waters it big: Easy and wireless installation
Also on the Claber site, there is a complete guide that explains everything you need to build your Colibrм underground micro-irrigation system. The collector tube is deposited in a shallow groove, created by swinging the blade of a spade into the ground: therefore the lawn is not ruined and the earth is not moved. With pressure fittings, no special tools are needed and the manifold is also cut to size, using a common pair of scissors. When the circuit is completed, before burying it definitively, the system is tested to verify that all the green and flowering areas of the garden are uniformly watered: if any area remains uncovered, the range or angle of the micro-sprinkler is adjusted. At this point, just compact the soil above the collector tube and set the battery-powered programmer, to automatically water our little corner of nature: thanks to the Colibrм System.
